| My dear friends! It has been a long time since i posted anything here and i must admit it has been the exact same time since i actually drew anything..it seems that my muse went on a holiday for a considerable time...and this is the first postworthy thing i have created since then. This is the second part to the picture "matrimonium ad morganaticam" and is the continuation of its theme. Again this picture covers a large range of feelings which i cannot explain accurately in one post, so i will limit it to some bulletpoints: - the couple to the right is together and clinging to its happiness (safety of their relationship in the circle) - the woman left behind still cant let go of the man and the past (the colour gray is consuming her and still a part of him - since you cant get rid of your past - only move on) - because she has lost all his attention the only thing she can do is get negative attention (she stabs him with a knife - sign of betrayal) the flowers in the ornament circle have specific meaning for the bride on the right: 1. i am not sure of your loyalty (Aster) 2. i have seen through you (Brennessel) 3. will you be loyal to me? (Flieder) 4. are hearts beat at the same time (Glockenblume) 5. you are hiding something from me (Kapuzinerkresse) 6. you have to be silent at the right moment (Mohn) - the woman of the past is part of the dark and moving background and symbolizes, that she is part of the negativeness (like dark clouds covering a blue sky) the dark blue of the background tries to invade the secure bubble of the ornament and is wrapping itself around it, trying to get into this glorious future and to take over. this is the short explanation of this picture and i hope that even without meaning you can enjoy my work. there are two more pictures belonging to this series on which i will start working in the course of next week. i hope youre all well! best, Elrond Random fact: I drew this second picture on the exact same day as the first just one year later, without knowing. |
