| So, last weekend Hearth's Warming Con, or short HWCon took place in Hoofddorp, netherlands. Stargaze and I wanted to donate an item for selling at the charity auction. We came up with a 100% homebrewed beer with tastes of cherry and american oakheart. The first batch aged two days resulting in a very herb beer and a slight taste of cherry. The second batch aged 6 days resulting in a more sweet beer with a strong taste of cherry and less sparkling. Opinions of our test persons differed 50/50, so we decided to let the final batch age 4 days. Of course he had a mascot in mind and together we brainstormed, me drawing and vectorizing with him deciding on colors. What you see above is the final label we printed on the bottle and the preview we made for the homepage of HWCon. The photo of the bottle was actually taken by me from the first batch produced. Fortunately we made it just in time for the auction! Stargaze went as a volunteer to HWCon working his butt off and in the auction freshly drawed one litre beer into a flip-top bottle for the winner. Money for the bottle went as high as 60€! o_o The rest of the beer was shared between the organizers and volunteers. For upcoming GalaCon in july we're going to make something similar but that's a secret yet. ;) |
