are you happy now? // all my bridges have been burnt.

He finally was able to turn back, to be himself again.

"Feels great", he grinned while stretching before she caught his attention.

"Oi, Haibara, won't you change back too?"

She glanced at him, trying hard to hide her tears. That was one thing she hated about him - Being weak because of him.

"Are you happy now?"

And suddenly, when he eventually noticed her bursting into tears, he was speechless ...

"I hate you!"

Her eyes grew in shock, she starred at him before she broke down in tears ...

Gasping, she woke up, close to tears.

Another nightmare, another flashback.

Did he really ... She needed to know.

"Nê ... do you hate me?"

"Why would I hate you?"

"You're mad at me for shrinking you. Aren't you?"

He chuckled, leading her to folder her arms and looking pretty angry at him.

"I like you. We're friends, right?"

cry. // i'm your side.

She couldn't stop looking at him.

It hurt her, seeing him, seeing him like this, seeing him with her ...

She knew they were "meant to be" from the very beginning and she just took him away from her but she still had hoped that maybe someday ... maybe he'd fall for her.

"I'm in love with you", she whispered softly, gently touching the name written on the black tombstone, "I've always been, ever since I saw you. I just ... I just wanted you to know since I never got the chance to tell you in person"

After turning around, she broke down, crying, begging for him to come back.

"I'm sorry ... I'm so sorry ..."

"I'll always be by your side, I'm always by your side*"

She raised an eyebrow at that song, played on the radio.

It reminded her of a promise this certain meitantei gave her.

"Oi, Haibara, you're coming?"

She shook her head, silently smiling to herself.

"Baka ne, you really are by my side"

"Nê, Ai-chan, why does Conan-kun always call you Haibara? I thought you're friends."

She couldn't help but frown, foldering her arms while walking her best friend home.

She was right.

They were friends but still ... maybe it was because of her age? After all, she was at least one year older than he was. He probably was just being polite.

It still bothered her.

"Nê, Kudô-kun?"

"Hm?"

"Yoshida-san asked me why you keep calling me Haibara."

"I respect you. I ... kind of admire you actually. It wouldn't feel right to call you Ai."

He turned around, looking at her, trying hard not to blush.

"Do - do you want me to call you by your given name?"

She just shook her head, smiling, thinking to herself how cute and thoughtful that actually was of him.

"No, it's perfectly fine ..."

Sie lag im Gras, starrte in den Himmel, lächelte für einen Moment.

So viele Sterne ...
