Announcer has light brown/dark blond hair done up in spikes and light skin, as well as a small goatee. He always wears a suit and bowtie beneath a ridiculous turquoise coat not unlike that of a pirate captain and with neon green shutter shades, keeping his eyes hidden at all times. Often he accessoirises this outfit with some nice, sparkly chains and recently he's also taken a liking to a flashy belt with a digital buckle, that somehow keeps synchronising with the things he says and thinks.

Having no name other than his title, Announcer is the official announcer of the Tumblr Rumblr tournament. He was among the people who set it up and stuck around for a second installment of it.
Nobody really knows if Announcer is as humanoid as he looks, but it's not very likely. Despite his chatty demeanor, he's mostly shrouded in mystery.

One oddly specific universal constant about him is that he keeps running into Cocoa and building some kind of emotional bond to her. In some universes, that might happen as siblings, in others as lovers, and in then others as mortal enemies. Their bond seems to serve some kind of purpose though.
Usually Announcer ends up in positions from where he can enjoy the suffering of others, occasionally he even becomes a notorious killer. His name often stays unknown to almost everyone around him, which gives him many titles across the multiverse. In one he is the Mephisto, in another one the Fortune Man.
He's also a terrible role model both in terms of fashion sense and in terms of general morals. Maybe his bond with Cocoa serves no other purpose than making up for that.

Species: Sugarplum Fairy (but thinks she's human)

As a child, Cocoa lived in Schlaraffenland, a magical Candy Kingdom that her parenty ruled over as a royal couple. However, she became very ill at some point, and her parents enlisted Theophrastus, a well-known doctor to cure her. Instead of doing so, he sealed a demon inside her that he wanted to get rid of, hoping that she would die and solve that problem.

Instead, the demon assumed control of her body and fled into the human world, where she grew up.

When the demon started to tug on the seal again, it's powers mixed with Cocoas natural heirloom and her imagination, leading to her being able to transform into a magical girl. All of her powers as such are based off candy.

In AUs Cocoa doesn't always end up as someone affiliated with magic, but she tends to have a connection to candy and be the heir to some kind of bigger legacy, be it wealth or royalty. She's not always a hero - sometimes she ends up being the Damsel in Distress, and in some universes, she even ends up in the role of a villain.

Species: Spiritus Familaris

Coffee is the being sealed within Cocoa. Her original form is about the size of a fist and looks "not quite like a spider, not quite like a scorpio, not quite like a lobster" as it is put by the legends.

Spiritus Familiaris is a type of demon from German folklore. They were sold in well-sealed bottles or jars and brought great fortune to their owners - bending fate to their advantage. However, owning a spiritus familiaris upon death meant being dragged back to hell with it, and the only way to get rid of one was to sell it for less money than you bought it for.

The last person who bought Coffee was Theophrastus, an aspiring doctor. Instead of selling her again though, he tricked her back into a vessel and sealed her within Cocoa. Since then, Coffee has been dormant for a while, then tried to assume control after waking up.

When she is in control of the body, this changes the magical girl form of it to one based on coffee, sugar, cream and hot beverages. She also possesses a lot of occult knowledge and knows to use it to her advantage.

In alternate universes, Coffee is a human being surprisingly often. In supernatural realms she might take the form of a witch, a demon of different kind or some other kind of entity though. She often ends up being either a leader or a very high-in-rank henchman.

Cole is a redhead with hair of medium length and bright skin. Despite his actual age, he doesn't look older than about 35 (maybe even much younger) and he's got green eyes.
Usually he wears a suit, but even his less formal clothing still looks kind of a bit formal since he tries to keep up a certain reputation as a lawyer.

He can manipulate time, even though his powers are very weak without a device called "Enhancer" from his home dimension (where supernatural powers are common enough to count as mundane). Other than that though, he is a pretty normal lawyer, and not exactly happy about being enrolled in the tournament.

Like Kitiara, Cole tends to feel drawn to the law even in alternate universes. He often ends up as a lawyer again, or even on some kind of police force, which hilariously clashes with how easily he catches the fancy of outlaws (especially Walker and Tybalt).

Roamer is pretty much Walkers dark side, and that's how they look, too. In their form within The Halls, they resemble a black liquid not unlike oil that can shapeshift about as much as Walker. When they become humanoid, they look like a pale human being with long, jet-black hair. The right half of their face is burnt and scarred, so they cover it up with their prehensile hair. The belt turns into a choker on them for some reason. Should they switch from Walker into Roamer in human form or vice versa, they automatically switch genders, too.

While Walker was created directly by The Halls, Roamer is the result of a corrupting spell cast on Walker, and therefore kind of split off from them. While Walker is incapable of feeling regrets, Roamer has to carry this burden for them - which turned them bitter and violent. They also have the opposite effect of Walker in terms of magical energy - they absorb it instead of radiating it, ending up soaking up the life energy of everything around. It makes them hunger for said life energy, and hunt for it by luring others close with sweet, deceitful promises.

In Alternate Universes, Roamer usually ends up wherever the law is broken, and often in powerful positions. Sometimes there are Roamer twins - a boy and a girl - but it also frequently happens that Walker and Roamer have contrasting genders. They also often are some kind of relatives. And enemies.

Species: Hall Walker

Walker is an aetherical entity from a place called "The Halls". They have three main forms.
One is their original form, a being half snake and half spider, which belongs to a race called "Nightmares". However, while it's exterior and voice is unpleasant, it actually is harmless - only feeds off nightmares. In this form, Walker was female.
Their form in the Halls is little more than a slightly glowing cloud of smoke, changing color depending on how Walker currently feels, but usually white. It can shape a kind of head to give people something to look at in conversation, but usually is really little more than a cloud, barely even able to touch things. In this form, Walker is genderless.
And the last form is their humanoid husk, which is in every way, shape and form human. However, it tends to be of great beauty, and depending on how much effort they put into upholding the masquerade, their hair might still glow. It stays white though, no changing of colour. Walker can only stay in this form as long as they wear a special, magical belt, even though the belt can be moved to other parts of their body. Whenever they turn from their common form into this, their gender comes to them at random. Their hair is always very long, and their skin almost as bright as it.

The Halls are a sentient place between the dimensions, and they wish to be protected and to have company. So they created Hall Walker, an entity that always wanders through them to keep them safe. "Hall Walker" is a bit less of a name than a title, there were several before the current one, but they are all interconnected through some common memories and feelings. Through the doors framing The Halls, Walker can access doors in other universes and dimensions. They have few powers themselves, but they are a powerful source of magical energy, which occasionally makes them a target for greedy wizards. They have no memory of their life before The Halls, and The Halls may even erase new memories of Walker whenever they could get in the way of Walkers purpose.

In other universes, Walkers moral ambiguity shows more often, and makes them end up on the edge of the law frequently. However, their nice appearance and demeanor usually ends up making them more fortunate in life.

Looks stretched out with his long legs, arms, fingers and torso. Jason has a pointy chin, with an even pointier beard and overall sharp facial features. Long dark hair, mostly obscured by a big black cavalier hat with a pinned brim decorated with a massive white feather, with an exception of a ponytail flowing down to the middle of his back. He wears a half-mask checkered with card suits. Trick wears a dark red frilly shirt with long sleeves under a black vest and a long cape of the same colour and white gloves. Loose black pants and matching pointed toe shoes.

He learned the art of magic from his father, Jeremy, and the art of showmanship from his uncle, Marcus. Both are deceased: a heart attack at an old age and a drunken stumble under a car respectively. His mother is still around, but after Jason took on the mask of Trick, he wasn’t communicating with her as much.

Trick tends to be some kind of trickster, matching his name - even in alternate universes. He always takes a big interest in magic, be it the mundane kind we know or actual occult practices. Also, he's a bit prone to flirting even with people he really shouldn't flirt with.

Kitiara is a young, dark-skinned woman with black hair and a chubby figure, as well as long, black, curly hair.

Like Cocoa and Coffee, she is a magical girl - but for different reasons. Kitiara, along with a few other people, ended up in a transdimensional accident. When she woke up again after it, she suddenly had the power to control water, create it, and to transform into a magical girl.

She was hired shortly after by a big company to become an actual paid superhero along with the others involved in the accident, and since then works that as a minimum wage job.

Kitiara is a hero and helper through-and-through, so it shouldn't be surprising that in alternate universes, she keeps ending up on the side of the law. She also often has some connection to water, especially to the sea.

Age: Several centuries, stopped aging in his 20s
Species: Human

Theophrastus was only aspiring to become a medic when he stumbled upon Coffee. Learning of her nature, instead of fearing her and trying to get rid of her his inner scientist won out, and he dedicated a lot of time to try and learn more about her. Eventually, they built a kind of friendship, he set her free from her prison and she taught him occult knowledge in exchange - most notably how to find and use the Herb of Life, a magical plant that can heal. With it, Theo managed to become a very successfull doctor and prolonged his own life.

However, things changed when he found out that Coffee, by influencing Fate in his favor, kind of ended up both affecting people around him negatively and building up a pile of bad karma on him. It changed his outlook on nonhuman beings completely - he started to understand them as a virus that was simply unable to do any good even if it wanted to - and he sealed her away in the sick body of young Cocoa, hoping for her to be imprisoned in it forever. Now that she has reawakened, he tries to get rid of her again.

Meanwhile, he developed the deluded idea of himself being some kind of savior to mankind, and the only one able to protect it from magical beings.

In alternate universes, Theo often ends up more grounded than in this one. His path tends to cross with Coffees eventually, but the chances are higher for them to part again without any grudges being held, or even with a friendly rivalry. His attraction to medicine and biology shows up in almost every incarnation of him however.

Despite being of mixed descent (half Japanese, hal Italian), the European side of Tybalts heritage shines through in his appearance most prominently, with his dark (albeit greying) hair and tan skin. His whole body is covered in scars from former battles, and steeled from and for his fights. He tends to wear a rather well-fitting grey outfit with a dark blue cloak over it. Beneath is almost black eyes, he also sports well-maintained stubble.

Tybalt is the bodyguard and best friend of Cole, and wherever Cole goes, Tybalt follows. He's also an assassin in his free time, but don't mention to any of the two. Having to compete with people who possess superpowers in his home dimension, he worked and still works hard on maintaining a strong body and magnificent weapon prowess.

Similar to Cocoa and Announcer, Tybalts fate is entangled with that of Cole, who he keeps running into even in alternate universes. There is also a strange connection between him and Coffee... but it's more Coffee being drawn to him than the other way around.
He also tends to be on exactly the side of the law Cole is not on.
