He doesn't like this attention too much since he has the feeling they're only after him for gaining a certain status in school, so he sticks mostly to his inner circle of friends that includes Mizuki, Nanako and Eiri as well. Takeru had a few girlfriends in middle school and early high school that all didn't treat him too well since he's easy to exploit due to his forgiving personality. Takeru knows Kotaru from elementary school and they have been best friends since forever. When they catch feelings for each other in the chaos that's called being a teenager, they just give it a shot but soon realize that this isn't for them. After the breakup, they take some time to heal but are even close friends in the aftermath that sometimes casually sleep with each other when they're single. Takeru has a falling out with Eiri later because he doesn't like the way Eiri treats Kotaru and eventually distances himself from him.
