Basara is pure fun, of course, but it lacks story (or did something like that show up after ep 2?).
I think Higashi no Eden has a story and it looks very interesting. I love the cute characters, the animation and how realistic it is (like english-speaking voice actors and good background drawings).
Your image is kind of cute. I like Saki. I'm not sure about Akira, however, he seems to have no right hand and the feet seem to be too far away from him, even considering the perspective.
But it's nice to have this very first fan art of Higashi no Eden here. I should draw some, too (but I think that of every series I'm watching and have watched in the past and somehow I never do it T.T)

How could you say it's crap?? Sengoku Basara has the best animation I've ever seen! And Yukimura is cute... T^T

The first episode of Basara is crap... ("Yukimura!" - "Oyakata-sama!" - "Yukimura!" - "Oyakata-sama!" - "Yukimura!" - "Oyakata-sama!" ---- wtf!!!)

But Eden of the East is quite nice, I like the character designs (reminded mit of Honey and Clover) and I agree about his butt X3
