Blood Religion von abgemeldet (A Moment in a Vampire's life) ================================================================================ Kapitel 1: 1 ------------ Blood Religion Sighing Kaoru watched the people passing him. Always busy, always in a hurry. How long did he watch them coming and going? He didn’t know anymore. It had been too long. Slowly he got up from his hidden place in the dark and walked out on the street. Standing still for a moment he let people pass him, looking at him with rejection and fear in their eyes. As always. Walking down the street, he watched the moon rising above the shadows that seemed to be the roofs of houses. The moon – it was always there to remind him of his being. His being that was addicted to the night. Forever forced to live in the dark of night, to hide from the action of day. Not noticing where he walked he found himself in a less busy part of the town far away from the city center. He walked through a beautiful park. The plants seemed to grow wild, not like the in city parks, which were always so nice and tidy, so strict. A small path led him to a little lake. The moonlight was reflected by it and wrapped the cold stone shrine on a small island in the middle of the lake in a soft light. It was so absurd. This cruel moon, which made him feel so lonely, so hopeless, for endless times was able to create such a beautiful picture. Touched by the beauty of this moment he walked along the lake until he found a stone staircase that led into the water. A young man was sitting there, staring out on the water where the moon light was reflected. Curious about him, he stayed there for a while, waiting for the other man to notice him. Some hours earlier ‘Hey Kyo, do you want to go out for some drinks?’ Kyo turned around hearing his best friend’s voice. ‘Ne Die, where have you been? I couldn’t find you in your classroom.’ Walking down the hall Die watched his shorter friend with the messy blond hair, the dark make-up and the tattered clothes. He knew he himself didn’t look better. That’s why they were called ‘freaks’ at their school. A big grin appeared on his face. ‘Ah, because of the same problems as always. My form teacher wanted to talk to me. If it wouldn’t be better for me to follow the lessons instead of sleeping or skipping them and what I thought about that crap.’ He yawned. ‘Now what about going out tonight?’ ‘Uhm… I’m not in the mood to go out. I’m sorry, Die.’ The redhead watched his friend, worried. Kyo hadn’t been ‘in the mood’ to go out for a few weeks and Die knew that something was bothering him. But nevertheless he smiled at his short friend. ‘No problem. Maybe another time, ne?’ Kyo slightly nodded. ‘Yeah, another time’, he agreed. Outside the school building Die placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder, squeezing it lightly. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow then!’ Winking at him Die walked down the street leaving Kyo alone on the sidewalk. Kyo sighed. Why did he have to come here? Listening to the sounds of the night he closed his eyes and remembered what happened earlier. After Die was gone, he decided not to go back to his apartment. He couldn’t stand his own loneliness there. So he started to walk around and kept on walking even as he lost his way. He ended up here in this park far away from his home, sitting on the cold stone staircase and staring out on the water. The moonlight was creating an amazing dance of light and shadow though it didn’t touch him. Kyo looked up at the moon. Its light was cold, not made to warm someone, not made to love someone, just like himself. He wasn’t made to love and he wasn’t made to be loved. That fact was clear. Rubbing his eyes with one hand, he suddenly felt as if he wasn’t alone anymore. Turning around he froze. Another man was standing there some steps above him and was watching him. Nervously Kyo’s back stiffened. He wasn’t sure what to think about this man. He was taller than him and definitively a few years older but his hair was purple and his clothes completely black. Kyo gulped. Kaoru grinned. It had taken a long time for the young man to notice him but finally he turned around. Smiling softly he stepped down the staircase and took a place next to him. Searching in his pocket for a while, he took out a small crumbled packet of cigarettes and offered one to the other man. He took it hesitantly. ‘Don’t be afraid. I’m not going to kill you.’ Not now, he added in his thoughts. ‘But don’t you think it’s a bit late for someone as young as you to be out? It’s far after midnight. You could get into trouble.’ He watched the young man closely. He was handsome. He slid his eyes over the small neck, seeing the vein pulsating there. Just in time, he could suppress the urge to lick his lips. Flipping his eyes back to the face, he found the young man staring at him. ‘Still afraid of me?’ Kyo’s face turned in anger. ‘I’m not afraid of you! Who the hell are you? And what do you want?’ He continued staring at this man. ‘My name is Kaoru. And I just want to give you some companionship. You are lonely.’ Kyo turned his face away. He didn’t want that man to see the change of expression on his face. But he was right. He was lonely. Of course he had his friends but that didn’t make him feel less lonely. How could this man know his feeling? He never dropped his mask. With shaking hands, he took a deep drag from the cigarette Kaoru had given to him. ‘You are lonely and sad. So let me stay here for a while.’ Kyo finally looked into Kaoru’s eyes. Pain was reflected in his own brown ones. Kaoru still watched the young man. Noticing the tense posture and the look full of pain in his eyes, he moved his position to sit behind Kyo and pulled him into his arms, Kyo’s back to his chest. To his surprise, he suddenly felt warm wetness on his hands, which were wrapped around the other man’s chest. Kyo was crying softly. The purple haired man bit his lip. That didn’t made it easier for him, he couldn’t let Kyo go, he needed him. He needed his blood. Closing his eyes he reminded himself of his current being. Once he had been a normal boy, a bit crazy but nothing abnormal. And now? Now he was that goddamned creature of the night, depending on the lives of others to survive. Oh, how he hated himself for killing so many innocent people, but nevertheless he wasn’t strong enough to end it. So he continued killing people to survive. He carefully caressed one of Kyo’s cheeks, stroking the smooth skin there. Kaoru brought his mouth to Kyo’s ear, whispering. ‘Don’t cry. It will be over soon.’ Slowly he sank his sharp fangs into the soft flesh of Kyo’s neck. Kyo couldn’t stand it any longer. He leant back into the embrace and made himself comfortable in Kaoru’s arms. This feeling of loneliness and pain had lasted too long. How often had he cried in his apartment being, left alone by his friends? He stopped counting. Now it was just too much, he felt so empty. Tears began to well up in his eyes, dropping down on his chest where the other man’s hands were lying. He didn’t want this pain to last forever, he wanted it to end. Kaoru’s words sounded clearly through the night but he frowned. He didn’t understand him. Gasping in shock, Kyo’s eyes widened as Kaoru’s fangs made painful contact with his skin. ‘Kaoru…’ , he whimpered and pressed his eyes shut. But after a few seconds he opened them again. The world around him was blurring but could it be? The pain at his neck and the pain in his heart had vanished. A warm feeling spiralled through his body and he relaxed, giving himself fully to the feeling he missed for so long. Kaoru’s mind exploded, fresh, hot blood was flowing him and he sucked greedily, not spilling one single drop. He closed his eyes. The young ones always tasted so good, they made him feel so alive and he slowed down. He didn’t want this feeling to be over too soon. But after a while he stopped and looked up, the man in his arms was dead. Kaoru hadn’t left him one single drop of blood, he had drunk it all. Feeling as if he was drunk, he raised himself into a standing position, watching the dead body falling limply onto the cold stone staircase. With mixed feelings, he bent down once again and kissed the still warm forehead of his victim. ‘Thank you, little one.’ He looked up and faced the dawn. It was time for him to go, time to hide and hate himself again and then – then it was time for him to find another victim. The end comments or citicism? Hosted by Animexx e.V. (http://www.animexx.de)
